9 Small Business Tools I Couldn’t Run My Business Without!

As I’ve been in business for two years, I’ve gradually added more and more small business tools to make my life more organized, and now everything is pretty much a well oiled machine! I have checklists, schedulers, and CRMs that save me so much time every day and keep everything organized. If you’re feeling frazzled trying to stay on top of everything and need some small business tools, these are my top 9 tools that I couldn’t run my business without!

Todoist

I know a lot of entrepreneurs love Asana and Trello, but I actually like the more basic Todoist! It’s just a checklist app, and you can add items to different days and sort them into different categories. It’s really simple, but it helps keep more organized and know what I need to do each day. And it’s nice to be able to check things off as I get them done!

Evernote

Evernote is always expanding and I recently listened to a podcast where a business owner helps people run their entire businesses on Evernote! But I keep things more basic and use it to keep notes and track ideas I have when I’m not near my computer. And I use it for personal things like grocery lists.

Facebook groups

I’ve really enjoyed virtually meeting new people in Facebook groups, and I think there are some great ones out there. If you’re interested in joining some, I would recommend finding groups that are in your niche and finding ones that aren’t too big. Groups with 10,000 members are too big for me because it’s hard to connect with people, so find the group size that works with you!

Buffer

I’ve been using Buffer for social media scheduling for years now, and it’s great! It’s really easy to use and I like the interface. I use it for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Price: You can start on a free plan, and if you want to schedule more than 10 posts at a time, you can upgrade for $10/month.

Microsoft Office

I’m old school and use Microsoft Office almost daily. I use Excel to keep track of invoices and expenses, and I use Word for writing projects. I do use Google Drive for joint projects, but I still love using Microsoft Office programs!

Tailwind

Since I’m a Pinterest manager, I LOVE Tailwind! But don’t worry, it’s really easy for any business owner to use to manage their Pinterest account. You can schedule pins, create pins, and interact with Tailwind Tribes. Since it’s helpful to be active on Pinterest every day, Tailwind takes care of that for you and is really helpful for growing your Pinterest account!

Keysearch

I personally use Keysearch for keyword research, but there are free options or free trials for other tools if you’re on a budget! If you’re new to SEO optimization, keyword research tools will help you see which keywords are possible to rank for and give you ideas for blog posts to write about to reach your dream clients.

Dubsado

I’m a recent convert to Dubsado, and I have been sold. I will say that it takes a little time to get set up and get used to it, but they do have very helpful videos to get you set up. If you’re unfamiliar with Dubsado, it’s a Client Relationship Management system, and I use it to keep track of projects, send contracts and invoices, and schedule consultation calls. Once you get things set up, it saves SO much time when you’re onboarding new clients!

Dreamy Client Magnet

I think courses are really helpful for entrepreneurs, and Reina Pomeroy’s Dreamy Client Magnet course is a great one for beginners trying to reach their ideal clients and grow their business! The course content was helpful to me, and the Facebook group of entrepreneurs that is included in the course is amazing. I have learned so much from the other business owners and even hired some of them to help with my business!
